My current research activities at Icam/ICA are about the damage of composite structures under medium a/o high velocity impacts and crashes: experimental characterization, damage scenario identification, modeling and simulation. In collaboration with Airbus Group, I worked on impact absorption of foam/woven composites shock absorbers optimized with either discrete (stitching, pinning, etc.) or continuous reinforcements (composites walls, etc.).

I currently act as a co-surpervisor of several PhD students:
– Ir. J.E. Chambe (ICA) works on the design of a composite frame for aircraft seats submitted to crash specifications;
– Ir. L. Manseri (ICA) works on the experimental and numerical study of the behavior of hybrid unidirectional/woven composite laminates under impact loading;
– Ir. Y. P. Sone Oo (GeM, collaboration) works on the development of analytical formulations based on super-elements method for the calculation of the response of immersed composite structures (plates, cylinders) under dynamic non-axisymetrical pressure field.
I also work in collaboration with P. Planques (CIRIMAT) et B. Viguier (CIRIMAT) on the modeling and calculation of damage and cracking behavior of thermal barrier coating under thermomechanical cyclic loadings.
In the past, I have also worked on other aspects in structural dynamics:
– the propagation of uncertainties through dynamical models of assemblies of mechanical structures,
– the shaking of civil engineering reinforced concrete structures subjected to transient dynamic phenomenon,
– the identification until crushing from highly corrupted dynamic tests.

Mes activités de recherche à  l’Icam/ICA concernent l’endommagement des structures composites lors d’impacts ou de crashs moyennes et hautes vitesses : caractérisation expérimentale, identification des scénarios d’endommagement, modélisation et simulation. En collaboration avec Airbus Group, j’ai travaillé sur l'absorption d’impact par des absorbeurs de choc mousse/tissus composites optimisés par des renforts discrets ou continus (parois composites, etc.).

Je participe à  l’encadrement de plusieurs doctorants :
– J.E. Chambe (ICA) travaille sur la conception d’un piétement d’un siège d’avion composite sous sollicitation de crash;
L. Manseri (ICA) étudie sous les aspects expérimentaux et numériques le comportement de composites stratifiés hybrides UD/tissus sous impact;
– Y. P. Sone Oo (GeM, collaboration) travaille sur le développement de formulations analytiques basées sur la méthode des Super-Eléments pour calculer la réponse de structures composites immergées (plaques, cylindres) soumises à  un champ de pression dynamique non-axisymétrique.
 
Je travaille également en collaboration avec P. Planques (CIRIMAT)  et B. Viguier (CIRIMAT) sur la modélisation et le calcul de l’endommagement et de la fissuration de barrières thermiques sous sollicitations thermo-mécanique cyclées.
Dans le passé, j’ai également travaillé sur d’autres aspects liés à  la dynamique des structures :
– la propagation des incertitudes à  travers des modèles dynamiques d’assemblages de structures mécaniques,
– la simulation de l’ébranlement des structures de génie civil en béton armé suite à  un phénomène transitoire,
– l’identification jusqu’à  rupture à  partir d’essais corrompus en dynamique.



Activités d'enseignement :

My teaching activities are related to the various aspects of structural mechanics:

– continuum mechanics,

– resistance of materials (beam theory),

– dynamics (waves and vibrations),
– finite element modeling,
