Activités de recherche :

The area of research focuses on manufacturing processes, especially in the process of machining (metal cutting) and, recently, additive manufacturing. The mechanical behavior of the machining and micro-cutting cutting tool is modeled and experimental monitoring of cutting forces, wear, tool life, machinability and other process factors is performed. The workpiece materials of interest are: aerospace and petroleum industry materials and biocompatible materials for medical implants (Titanium, Aluminum, Chrome-Cobalt alloys and aeronautic composites).

Activités d'enseignement :

She taught the following disciplines in undergraduate and graduate courses: manufacturing processes, machining (theory and practice), additive manufacturing and design of experiments (DOE).

Her academic education took place in the Mechanical Engineering of UFRJ (Graduation, Master and Doctorate) with doctorate Sandwich at UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign).

She worked for three years in the steel industry managing the small team of manufacturing, assembly and installation of continuous casting flow equipment in Brazilian and South American companies of the steel industry after the doctorate and before rejoining the academic life.

Before coming to France, she was a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CEFET/RJ (2006-2010) and at UFRJ (2010-2019). At UFRJ she was director of International Relations at the Polytechnic School (2014-2017) and she also worked leading the Brafitec Project with Paristech Schools. She held a postdoctoral position for one year (2017-2018) at ENSAM Paristech in the LaBoMaP laboratory integrated in the Saint Jean Industries industry in Cluny, France.
